You don’t want to be the smartest…
My dad has drilled quite a lot into this little head of mine, but one of those things that I think about very often is “if you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room”. Meaning, there’s always something more to learn. We are students of life and there is never anything wrong with asking questions. Further, it is critical to surround ourselves with people from whom we can learn and be uplifted by. We should always strive to learn new things. Perhaps the only thing worse than being the smartest person in the room is believing you’re the smartest person in the room. Believing that you’re more intelligent than others is a dangerous game. The risk is you’re more prone to dismissing other’s ideas quickly and pursuing your own agenda based on the false sense of confidence.
For this reason I am continuously making the effort to learn more about health and nutrition by finding new resources. Knowing that rates of overweight and obesity are increasing across Canada, and negatively impacting health, I decided I wanted to increase my own knowledge for myself, friends and family. Canfitpro created the Healthy Eating & Weight Loss (HWL) Coach program. This certification is intended to help us work effectively with clients and to commit to our own healthy choices. The ever-changing and conflicting information about nutrition can be difficult to navigate and I wanted to be able to offer more for my clients and provide trusted information, from sound sources, to help guide them towards reaching their goals.
I’ve learnt so much throughout the course and I always want to offer the most value possible to my clients.
With this being said, I am taking on new clients for April!! Flex with Shlex encompasses three main components:
Personalized workout program
Custom meal plan, macro guide and grocery shopping list
And arguably the most important, accountability.
We will have a consultation to discuss your start point, evaluate your goals and then I will create a custom program for YOU. I focus on habits, routine and lifestyle to allow you to achieve your goals - through consistency, patience and dedication.
